just because…

My thoughts always drift back to surgery and aesthetics.
It isn’t really about being “hard-working.”
It’s more about temperament—about who I am, at my core.

I read anatomy papers and surgical manuals, tracing layers in my mind.
Again and again, I visualize, revise, and refine—until the images settle deeply, almost instinctively.

I step outside. I take my trusted camera—an M-series Leica with a manual lens—and begin to study light and shadow. When something quietly stirs inside me, I press the shutter.

I don’t touch them as often these days, but my record collection has grown almost unnoticed—now close to 2,000 vinyls.For nearly eight years, I was a resident on From Sun City on NTS Radio, letting myself sink into music—messages that transcend time.

Why am I talking about this all of a sudden?
There’s no particular reason.
Just one of those days.

What does the individual called Morello see, hear, and think about?

MSA is, simply an extension of that.

Photography, music, aesthetics—none of them feel separate to me.
What they share is not a surface-level understanding, but a relentless pursuit of depth.

A photograph captures a single moment, yet within it exist layers of light, shadow, air, time, and ma—the space in between. Like the layered worlds in Alex Webb’s photographs. Or the quiet moments in Rinko Kawauchi’s work, where contours emerge softly in light, only to dissolve again into a prism of color.

Music works the same way. Only when the needle drops do you hear its true texture—the resonance of space, the breath of the performance. The background of a song—why it was created, what lies beneath its expression—changes depending on who listens, when, and why.

Aesthetic surgery, too, is decided only when everything beneath the visible “result” aligns:
anatomical structure, the ingenuity and effort of countless predecessors, and above all, the patient’s wishes and values—layered together in harmony.

The world shaped by countless variables.
When balance is achieved, sometimes distortion also appears.

The real question is how we interpret that distortion. How far should we adjust it?
And could that “distortion” actually reflect the patient’s personal preference?

Unraveling these layers—that is what I believe our true work as aesthetic plastic surgeons is.

That’s why phrases like
“This procedure is trending,” or
“Everyone is doing it,”
hold very little meaning for me.

What matters is whether it is truly necessary for this person, here and now.

It isn’t unusual for the same procedure name to produce completely different outcomes. That difference isn’t simply about technical skill. A shift in diagnostic perspective, design philosophy, or understanding of what the patient truly wants—even a slight mismatch—can send results in an entirely different direction.

Aesthetic medicine is often described as additive medicine:
adding what’s lacking, lifting what has fallen.

But in reality, decisions of subtraction and restraint are far more difficult.

“This area is better left untouched.”
“This isn’t the right timing.”
“There’s a concern here that hasn’t yet found words.”

When I sense these things, I stop.

To be honest, there are moments during consultations when I wonder: Is this person truly troubled?
Or are they simply moving along with the current?

Of course, no one needs to have a clear answer from the beginning. It’s okay to hesitate. It’s okay to waver.

But I want you to have one thing:
a stance toward how you wish to face your own face and body.

A consultation taken lightly.
A procedure chosen vaguely.
A change expected half-heartedly—

“just because”

In aesthetic medicine, “just because” is the most dangerous place to stand.

Because once you begin, it rarely stops.
No matter how beautiful something is, it can always be made “more” beautiful.
And precisely because that possibility exists, people keep reaching for the next step.

That’s why the very first step must never be taken lightly.

Aesthetic medicine is not something decided by someone else.
Not by a counselor’s words. Not by social media opinions.

It is something you choose — in your own words.

I can’t promise a perfect transformation.

But
“Why choose this?”
“Why not choose that?”
Those questions—I will always think through them with you.

Photography, music, surgery—
anything without seeing its depth, quickly becomes boring.
But what you understand it in structure, background, and meaning, it becomes timeless and everlasting.

Aesthetics are no different.

To face those who are truly needing our services — with sincerity.
I can’t engage with “just because.”
